GPRS access on Cingular
Is it possible to access the Internet (GPRS) on a laptop through the Razr on Cingular's MediaNet plan, or do you have to sign up for a Cingular Data Connect plan?

I asked the same question of Cingular support last week. I also asked Cingular sales people in my local store.
The official answer is that we are supposed to sign up for the more expensive data plans. The unofficial answer is that it depends on how we configure our connection to the Internet.
I've purchased the unlimited medianet plan and keeping my eye on my usage. I'm going to take it easy the first month to make sure I don't get a huge bill. I found one thing on the Internet that said that we will billed at 1 cent per KB regardless of the medianet plan we sign up for. I found a counter to that saying that our media net plans cover our usage.
Bottom line: probably ok on media net plan but not for sure.
