Phone Book entries

I just traded in a Sony Ericson z500a for my Razr today and was updating my internal phonbook from my Sim Card.

I like the fact that you could have one name with multiple numbers attached to that name in my Sony but it seems as if I have to have a contact/name for each number, regardless if it is the same person or not, with my Razr.

Does anyone out there know how I can have multiple numbers attached to ONE name in my phonebook so I don't have to scroll through the same name 2-3 different times to get to the number I want??

Thanks in advance...

I think you can do it if you save the entries to your phone, not sim..

not sure.. its what I heard. Havent tried it.

I just came across this for anyone out there who was dealing with this issue too.

Q: i have multiple entries for a contact (home phone, mobile phone, e-mail address etc) and the phone is showing more than 1 entry per contact name. wot can i do?

A: go to ur phonebook, hit the menu key (middle soft key), go to 'setup', and select view by primary contacts only. then u'll only see 1 entry per contact. to go to a 'non-primary' number of a contact, simply scroll to the contact first and press left/right on the directional pad and u'll be able to get access to the other numbers/addresses.

I did this and it works great ! ! ! !

That is from a post by Lord Farkward over at MottoModders. Here is the link if any of you was interested in it:...

The other thing you can do to speed up the process of selecting a contact in Moto's archaic address book is to go to Setup and select the "List" view instead of the "Picture" view for your contacts. The Picture view only shows 3 entries which makes you do more scrolling, but the List view shows 7 contacts at a time.

You are welcome. I've only had this thing for 2 weeks and I learn stuff every day...like if you copy your phonebook to your SIM card so that you can make a copy in case you lose your phone, then it causes frigging double entries of all your phonebook entries. I have about 150 entries so I had delete the double entry on each one...it's worth it though in case I ever lose my phone, which I know i will..lol

I read in that link I posted earlier that you could throw all of the "SIM" phonebook entries into a one group and the entries on your phone itself into another group and just choose to show one of the groups so you wouldn't see double phone entries.

He explains it if you go to that link I posted in my first post. It's a really good post for info on the phone and what you can do with it. I think it might be about 1/2 way down the page but I'm not positive... I'll look for it too.
