Ok wen you make your own ringtones ( taking a song and cutting it down through adobe audition ) does is cost money to transfer the media to your phone. because when you download a cingular ringtone it will say how ever many kilobytes transferred at the end. will this do the same with the mp3 ringtones you can transfer to the phone???? thanks

They only charghe you if you own the black Razr. It's free on the silver ones, and if you buy a silver one on eBay they actually pay you to download ringtones.

Yeah, cuz the black one's new, so they charge you. The silver Razrs are so old that they know the only people that still have them are people that don't buy cool ring tones. That's why people are selling them on eBay to younger dudes that want all the free ringtones.

Make sure you ask you mom before you use her eBay account, though.

What really sucks is I had the Sony Ericsson s710a and had problems so Cingular is sending me a brand new black RAZR and along with being charged for transferring ring tones, I read on HOFO that I will be charged .10 for every pic I take!!

What you have to do is save the pictures as wallpaper first, then immediately replace it by taking another picture and saving that as wallpaper, etc etc. Then they can't charge you. Of course, you have to keep taking picture after picture, since you have to keep replacing them, or they'll charge $.10 for the last one you take.

Except if you press the 10X zoom smart key.

That just totally blows. This BLACK RAZR SUCKS. I'm going back to the best cellphone maker in the world which is Audiovox and porting my number over to Boost Mobile. They have great service and great phones. Goodbye Cingular!!

I would say yes but this isn't ebay so you probably don't give a s*** LOL.

On a serious note, if you are serious then the answer is yes.

Yes I agree, great phone. Keyword is PHONE. Alot of people still purchase those devices for talking only. I don't fall into that category, and with me having had the Nokia 6620 for the past year, I have come to realize I can't live without the Symbian OS. Just upgraded to the 6682 last week and am extremely satisfied with it. It makes for pleasant days when we are well satisfied with our wireless devices as well as our service provider. Where would we be without them?? And why in the HELL does a tried and true company such as Sony let Ericsson put their name on some of the worst wireless crap produced?????

Yup, I'm one of the "phone people." The biggest plus of the RAZR for me is its size. I don't like belt clips, so it seemed like I was forever walking around without my phone. The RAZR slips so easily into my pocket that I now have it with me full time. The fact that it has Bluetooth and a useable camera are big plusses, but I really just needed a PHONE that wasn't always in the way.

I had a S/E before this, because I needed a GAIT phone. Like you, I didn't really like it much.

I had the Nokia GAIT. It was pretty good. I've been strictly GSM user the last 2+ years but there are still people here that won't give up that blah GAIT phone.

Whoever came up with the concept of the RAZR should be in the Smithsonian. It would be hard to fathom how much money that phone has made Moto. They cost a chunk of money when they first came out, and a year later they still are kinda pricey. So Moto just keeps changing the colors, and making more money LOL

I bought one of the first commercially available U.S. units, and I don't think they ever intended for the RAZR to sell in any volume at all - it was supposed to be sort of a "statement" phone, released to coincide with Day 1 of the merger with ATTWS. The next think they knew, it became the first phone Cingular actually featured in their ads - selling the service by marketing the phone.

The biggest criticism, is, as you've pointed out, it's not a technology-laden phone. But I personally think their research told them that the biggest portion of the RAZR's potential market was going to favor form over function, so they sacrificed "gee whiz" for "ooooh."
