🤭 The phone has been offer through SUNCOM wireless (east coast of U.S.) for some time now.
the slightest bump you'll hear an audible alert and the screen reading can't read SIM card Hit pwr button and wait 10 minutes for it to reset, or kick the BATTERY. so i traded it for a new one same model and got the same thing 😡 Ringtones? you ask. every format excect Mp3. the real voice are in AMR. format good luck finding them. the best way buttime consuming is the datd cable and a format convertor (NOKIA Multimedia Converter).
Earpiece is low you can hear everything except the person you are talking to.
Poly Spkr but no spkr phone????
NO ONE makes hands free to fit it.
Games? where? NEC offers four I think...

takes nice picture...

Agreed 100%. SunCom has already discontinued this model. The "Cannot Read SIM" is a constant problem and cannot be corrected other than just trading out to another phone. The camera is very nice and the screen is like watching a plasma screen TV. It's HUGE! As for the voice quality, I can say that both the ear piece and the mic are great quality. I used this phone for a short bit until my Motorola V505 came in. Needless to say, I wanted Bluetooth that the NEC did not offer. Same for ring tones. No MP3 in this day and age for the price? Give me a break!

Good camera, good video, terrible phone.

Yes, there are many features of this phone that are very nice but the SIM problem can be circumvented. It is caused by insufficient pressure being placed on the SIM by the cover. If the phone is shaken the contacts break connection betweem the SIM and the phone. Take a 1 inch square piece of paper and put it between the cover and the SIM. So for anybody with this problem, you can at least fix this problem until you can afford a new phone. There are other problems. The Sync software for the phone is junk. The onboard scheduler is junk too.

I just received my NEC 535M, and I am pleased have discovered that NEC has addressed the SIM card issue. There is now a small rubber square attached to the bottom of the battery above the SIM card to keep it in place, and I have had no problems with my SIM card even while running.

* when I said running, I meant running, the physical activity. I have also dropped my phone several times out of shallow pockets, and it has survived completely unharmed. Only once, when dropped from about 4-5' did I have to restart the phone. IOW, very durable.
