Motorola V260 / V262
Purchased v260 -my first impressions
I just purchased a Motorola v260 for one of my employees. I bought it a Radio Shack on Friday afternoon and they only had one. I played around with it Friday night and shipped it to the user on Saturday morning, therefore I cannot send you pics or check anything for you, but I wanted to post my opinions of this one.
The phone seems to be about the same size as the v60, maybe a touch wider (side-to-side) and thinner (front-to-back) than the v60s. The v260 is all siler and has a "reverse" LCD type of front display which seems to work good in most lighting conditions (light numerals on black background) 🙂 . The inside screen is slightly larger than the v60 but similar in quality to the LG4500, maybe a touch be...

Thanks for posting your review of the V260. I am on the cusp of purchasing one, maybe two, of the V260s and appreciate the information.
Radio Shack also sells the V265, which adds camera capability that I am not interested in, so the V260 at half the cost ($49) of the V265 ($99) is attractive. 🙂
I am interested in the USB connection to the computer and also in the possibility of using Verizon's web connectivity, thereby bypassing AOL. If there were another way of connecting to my email account with Cox instead of establishing yet another email account, using the V260, that would be best of all.
Do you know anything about these things?
Bob
Since the only connector on the phone is the standard Motorola jack on the bottom (no external USB anywhere) the only way I could see a USB connection is using the Motorola USB data cable.
I don't know how you would connect to Cox with the phone, so I would suggest calling Verizon's Data Support people to inquire -just call customer service and ask to be transfered (I believe CS is 80o-900-0204).

I have and am using the LG vx6100 right now and, while it works fantastic, it has a camera so it will need to go (I've got to set a posit...

If you need a Tri-Mode look at a LG 3200... not fancy but works really good, and also has a good speakerphone...

So -- early adopters of the v260, please send in your impressions. I am particularly interested in reception in low signal areas (especially indoors) and speakerphone quality.

AMEN TO THAT! My workplace doesn't allow cam phones either, and it seems that all that's coming out is camera phones now.
The v260 is a nice exception, and may save some folks who are in the same boat from having to go with an old LG or anicent Moto (V60). I myself dodged the bullet by getting one of the last Samsung 530s that ...
