As of today the phone should be released by Cingular next week. To my understanding with a very good source; Cingular has an exclusive for 90 days on the phone. So 90 days from the cingular launch other carriers can start selling it. The phone is what everyone is waiting for! Trust me, they are going to have to pry it out of my dead hands. If you load Microsofts voice commander on it the phone reaches a whole new level! if you have any questions I can try and answer!

How sure are you that the "SX-66" will be released next week? I read on another message forum that Cingular's "S66" was next week and the "SX-66" will be in mid-December.
The reason I ask is because I really want this phone and have become tired of waiting for it so, I ordered the SMT5600 instead. If you are pretty confident that the "SX-66" is next week, I am going to cancel my order.
BTW, as of last night, Cingular's Customer Service and Sales departments still know nothing about the release date of this phone. Neither does Best Buy who was supposed to get them on 11/14.

The warehouse is set up for them, and the accessories are in. waiting on the phone to get in now. Again my sources are pretty good so keep your fingers crossed for the Thanksgiving week. I would say most likley friday. I would get them quickly because I think Cingular undershot the demand so they will go and be out of them fast! I am not in customer service or sales, and I dont think bestbuy would know.

OK update on the release date, as of Friday i got word that Cingular will not have them in the warehouse until Dec 2nd! sorry guys! I had hoped that they would be in before Dec! The phone is worth the wait! the razor is nice but not as nice as this one!

Dec 2nd is the date...Not sure about the price. I do know this the SX66 will not have the VGA camera but that will not keep me from buying it. 😁

Supposed to be in the warehouse Dec 2nd. As for the camera Cingular will not be carring a Camera version. Sorry guys! I tried! The device is still the coolest phone out there. Trust me and purchase the Microsoft voice commander, it take the phone to a whole new level!I am not sure about the price but i would venture to say at least 499 maybe 599. I could be wrong do not know so dont hold me to it!

Lets just say that I did everything I could to get them to change their minds. The reason seems to be that they dont think this is a consumer phone and they want to offer it to Govt. contracts and businesses that dont allow camera phones in the buildings. My suggestion to carry 2 models was squashed! It would make a whole lot of sense to have both models so you dont shut out the consumer market but I was over ruled! I do believe that Cingular has no under estimated the popularity of this phone. Only time will tell!
