Return the SX 66?
I bought the sx66 1 week ago. Am generally pleased with the phone,(bluetooth connections a little shakey). Can return phone within 30 days to Cingular. Should I? When the updates are done on the recalled(?) phones will I be able, through a download, to upgrade mine if I keep it? If I return it which phone to choose. Cingular is "coming" out with the Treo 650 but right now has only the Treo 600.

If your sx66 is working mostly OK, I would hang on to it.
The bug seems mostly to be with Bluetooth not pairing or dropping the connection. Some people report bad static, and different results with different headsets. The Bluetooth bug is being chased down and should be resolved.
My phone would pair up with my Moto 820, work for a while, then not be paired up anymore. Cingular exchanged it for me, and it is now 85% reliable. I tried to pair it with my friend's sx66, and his would not find it.
Let Cingular know you have some bluetooth problems and you want to wait and see what they do to fix it, and have them note your account. Keep up on these threads and go back to them when they resolve the...

Thanks asdrew, I will go back to the cingular store and see if I can get them to note the problems. I want to keep it but just hate to think I might be stuck with this in a month or 2 when they come out with a smokin hot sx66 that works perfectly.

ok..go to cingular..haha...waste of time...any issues on the fone call siemens hotline...like i said before i have spoken to a siemens corp. and they will be emailing me about the updates..and if you are trying to pair devices to send and recieve files...ur not bright..no offense....it done total different..then pair...pair is only for headset and speakerphone and etc....i have paired with about 3 phones other then another siemens. and have been easly sending and receving files...i also said before get the sony hbh-300 bluetooth headset..if you go on ebay stores..you will find it below $100....it works the best and the corp engineers have said to have that working as the most reiable one.

Whats wrong with the phone is software. There is nohing wrong with the phone. and like any other phone. a software/firmware update will fix everyones problem. be patient.

I was only talking about pairing my headset to his phone so he could see how it works, not pairing our devices for files. I hope I'm still bright. I've heard the Sony headset seems to be the most reliable, but I'm waiting to see what fixes come up before I spend more $. Siemens did finally put their headset on the sx66 accessories page ($99), but as expected, the Siemens tech guy said they aren't really available yet. Siemens phone support has been quite good so far, lets hope the guys fixing the problem are as good (I expect they are). I don't expect there will be any problem getting updated phones or patches if we are beyond 30 days. They know its a problem for us and are working to correct it. Let us know as they email updates.
