High pitched whining sound
Anyone else having this problem? I have had the SX66 for 1 month. About 2 weeks ago, the speaker began making a very high pitched tone. You really only hear it when placed within 1 foot of your ear. This occurs constantly when the device is powered on, making it pointless to own the device really and very very annoying to use as a phone without a headset. Rebooting it did not work. This looks like a hardware issue. Anyone else having this problem?

yes, i had the problem with a headset. the heaset would whine so loud could not listen to music or use a headset to use the phone. the problem you are having i think has something to do with the screen. see if you hear the noise when the screen is not illuminated. the mpx-220 was very loud and unbearable. i'm actually trying the treo 650, never been partial to palm but it is a great device. i do not have the whining on this device but it does have a little background noise. can't win for loosing.
