MediaNet Help
Hi,
I just got an sx66 and I love it. My only problem is that I can't get the mediaNet GPRS to work. I called Cingular and they were clueless. They gave me a case number and said they would call back in a week. Maybe someone here can help.
When I try to bring up a web page I get the following error:
Cannot connect
Dialed: wap.cingular
The answering modem has disconnected.
To check your connection go to settings.
Please help!
Jon

This has happened to me. Try resetting the SX66, also, call and get the level one customer service to get the technical support help desk on the phone, and have them reset your MediaNET account. When it says the modem is not answering, that's an issue on THEIR END

CHECK THE SETTINGS ON THE PHONE, AND MAKE SURE IT IS CONNECTING TO GPRS AND NOT CSD.
ALSO NOT SURE IF IT HAS A HOME, ROAM, AND EXPRESS OPTION, IF IT DOES SELECT EXPRESS.

Used to you could e the Media net on any PDA (Treo, SX66, etc...) But now if you try to connect to the internet using Media Net it won't work. You are required to suscribe to the PDA Data plan for 44.99 for unlimited. I know it's stupid, but it's somethin they have done recently. Also I think it has to be something they have done to their phones becuase I have an unlocked HP 6315 and it works fine with media net to get on the internet.
Hope this helps...

No this is incorrect. With Media Net packages on a PDA with either old media works, or new unl int for 24.99 you can connect with pda. However Cingular does not want this, but it does work. I have the SX66 with media works and works great. BUT you have to set some more settings up. do a search on howardforums.com you will find the answer

I think someone else posted this too, but you need to have a plan, like MediaNET, on your account. Otherwise, you will not be able to connect.
