Ringtones
👿 Trying to make my own ringtones in the mps format and this phone doesn't seem to want to cooperate. i paid $10 bux for a ringtone site where i can upload ringtones to my phone. When my phone gets the link to download the ringtone it doesn't download the mp3. I sent a mmf file to my phone through mms and it wasn't recognized. I can send mp3's through mms and play them but then i can only save them in the audio folder which can't be used 4 ringtones. feel like i wasted 10 bux

If we are talking about the same website, then you have to go to an actual web address through your wireless internet and download the song through your locker, I know on my motorola v220 it wont let me download the songs from messages sent to me

What format do my ringtones need to be to transfer to the phone over IR. Be as specific as possible plz. 🙄

If you are talking about Planetringtones.com, you can use the ringtone ripper that they provide, and use about 20 seconds of mp3 songs as a ringtone. just go to the link in your wireless internet that is listed on the website and log in by entering your phone number and the tones download straight to your phone to be used as a ringtone. let me know if we are on the same page

When I did that, It wouldn't download the mp3. I guess either it couldn't read the format or i dunno. the libk was accessible iin windows but not L1400 OS.

So you went through the wireless internet and logged into the locker and it wouldnt read the mp3's? did you email the website and ask them if the phone was compatible? I know the L1200 was compatable and it was the same concept of a phone, this one was just an upgraded version of it.

Well, I went there directly through a link. I didn't log into planet ringtone wirelessly then go to my locker and then download. That may work you say? I don't wanna cuz those KB's cost me big bux

Yes, that will work. Just go to the website and download straight through your wireless browser, it will even let you preview it before it stores it. Do you have a media package with Cingular? That may be what you need plus it doesn't take up too much to download the tones. Let me know if it works for you
