LG L1400 / C1400
Does anyone have L1100 pc sync software?
I just got this phone and it's not a bad phone (with a few minor glitches/missing features). But LG is being such a f***** asshole! They don't provide the pc sync software and tell me to purchase it for another $50!
I found, on some forum, that the old software (which they took off their site) for L1100 works with L1400. Does anyone have it?

Here's the best solution I could come up with after wasting almost 8 hours on this...
I was able to transfer images and ringtones to the L1400 using English version of software for L1100 and IR connection with my laptop. Java apps and photos did not work. Here's how you do it.
Get the british software from here.

Get the latest 1.2.x version of IRCOMM (version 2.x will not work) from here

In LG GSM software configure your COM port to baud rate of 57600. You're ready to go.
Also LG PC Sync worked for syncing the address book with computer AND with Outlook (even with Outlook 2003 that I have). Calendar and memo syncing also worked with local computer an...

And you did all this with the IR port? Including the Outlook sync? All I'm trying to do is sync my contacts. I was talking with an LG rep today and he said this wasn't possible.

Yes, I did all of that with IR port. Most tech support people in general don't know **** and just walk you through an FAQ document. Also, LG officially doesn't have/support software for the phone. This software is from UK site for a different phone. It just happens to work. So don't ask LG tech support about it.

Is there ANY way you can send photos to your PC without using MMS? And BTW, yes, I do have IR.

You need irCOMM2k to emulate a COM port over IR on a laptop or PC with IR, and either the L1100 software or a program called L1400 Communicator. The L1100 works better as you can do more with it, I was only able to get photos from my phone to the laptop using the L1400 software.

Yep, I've done it with the L1100 software and the L1400 Communicator software both via the IR port.
