Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)
How's this compare to the Nokia 6620?
I see the main advantage of the 6620 being EDGE compatible, as well as the Symbian OS with lots of apps available, as well as having a slightly better control scheme. But the 5600 is smaller I think.
Anyone have any input?
From my own testing and research, I can say that EDGE, while significantly faster, is not necessarily as stable as I'd like (short connections work fine. Connecting for 45 minutes or more at one time seems to be an issue) and it's not available in enough markets to justify the phone--yet. Yeah, EDGE is here where I live, but it's not everywhere I go. Until there is a more ubiquitous high-speed standard (meaning something that is deployed network-wide), I'll wait on the high-speed phone. At least it won't be a primary buying consideration.
