Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)

My SMT 5600 keeps periodically popping up a screen that says something about "STK service" and I have to abort/cancel it with a few clicks.

What is this and/or how do I make it stop.

I have a voice plan but no data plan if that helps diagnose it any.
