Newer Phone and Time Zone Questions
Hi All!
I'm considering getting the SMT 5600 but I read in one of these threads that in a few days, a newer phone will be coming out. Is this true? If so, what phone is it and when will it be available? Should I wait?
Also, I believe I read on Amazon that the SMT 5600 does not automatically update when you travel thru time zones. This is not a big deal, but would be a nice feature.

You have heard correctly. From most reports available, Cingular was planning on releasing a newer version of this phone, called the "2125" on Nov. 18. The phone upgraded the operating system to Windows Mobile 5, and also made improvements on the data technology (EDGE vs. GPRS). There are several other smaller improvements as well. I have not been able to find the new model on the Cingular web site, but trust it will show up sometime very soon.

As for the time-zone issue... yes, as far as I've been able to figure out on my 5600, the time zones don't update on their own as my old Verizon phone did. Not sure why, I'd be surprized if the ...
