Problem Synchronizing with MS Outlook
Hi all,
I have a Sony Ericsson P910a cell phone and I am completely unable to synchronize with Outlook. I am hoping that somebody out there can give me some suggestions.
SOFTWARE & HARDWARE
I believe the phone software is all current:
Phone CXC162050 R4B002
Organizer CXC162041 R3A04
CDA 162006/23 R3A01
PC Suite - 3.1.1 ?? (Readme file says 3.2.0)
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.6627)
My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 with SP2 and with all current security updates.
My computer is an HP Pavilion Laptop with a 2.8GHz P4 chip and 512 MB RAM. Hard drive is less than 1/3 full.
SETTINGS
I have set PC Suite to synchronize Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Jotter, but not Messages....

I'm having a simular problem, and our computer configurations are about the same. However, I have never successfully synched. After speaking with Sony's tech support these conclusion were drawn:
* If the [phone control link] is on the(computer's) task bar, software/drivers are probably properly installed.
* If the status of the comm port (x) is enabled this means your USB connection is properly set. Right click [phone control link] then click [properties].
* If synch fails, security software (McAfee) should be "uninstalled" until you can synch.
Once McAfee is uninstalled I will post the results. Should you resolve this issue keep us updated, Thanks!
