v551 Motorola Cingular WHERE'S CALL LOG???

I just got my new v551 today 1/2/05, replacing a v400 I had but which got stolen on Christmas Eve. ☹️ Cingular is my provider. The MENU doesn't show CALL LOG to see received/sent calls -- there's no icon for it. It's crowded out by icons I don't use like AOL IM and "My Account" or "Shop." I can't seem to find the CALL LOG icon or access anywhere on the phone. The manual doesn't help, because it lists it as there, but says "some providers vary" in what's on the menu.

Is it really possible that they screwed up and left out the CALL LOG? To me this is an essential feature, so I'm very bummed. Can I modify which Icons I choose to put on my menu, e.g., dump AOL IM and replace it with call log? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

It is there. Just not in what you might consider a logical place. Many people have complained about the menuing system in the v551. But there IS a 'Recent Calls' Menu.

Main Menu ->
Settings ->
Personalize ->
Home Screen ->
Home Keys

Then pick a key you want to put a shortcut to the Recent Calls menu. I have mine under the Left Soft Key. Just scroll down to that option and select it. Then scroll through the long menu choices until you come across the 'R...

the default left soft key button should say recent, which means recent calls and that is your sent, received, etc. i changed to the v551 on cingular from a v120e on verizon, and its similar, so it wasn't a problem for me, but i hope the info helps
