Does anyone know of any websites where you can download free skins or wallpapers? Thanks so much,

Alright, call me a rookie. I just purchased the phone and am trying to figure everything out. I downloaded from Cingular Media Mall. I guess that was stupid if all this is free. How do you get the wallpaper pictures from the above web site to your phone? I'm assuming the first step is purchasing a data link kit. After that, do you save it your computer and transfer it to the phone? What format do you save it as? jpg? How do you transfer to phone?
THANKS!!!!!!!

Okay, first off, either way it's going to cost you to send something to your phone, whether it be by surfing online to get it or buying a cable. That said, never buy anything from Cingular cause you can find it for free. (ie, wallpapers, ringtones, etc.) I suggest getting a cable and Mobile Phone Tools. That or upload something to a wap site and surf to it and find it. Anything you want, save it on your computer. The V551 will support jpg's and gif's as far as walls go & MP3 and midi's as far as ringtones go. I suggest MP3's cause they sound far cooler than polyphonics. If you find a wallpaper sized for your phone (176X220), I gaurantee it will work on your phone. Save anything you like on your PC, get Mobile Phone Tools and send it to your ...

Thanks for filling in a rookie. I've been engineering at work all day and didn't learn that much! Any suggestins on Phone Tools? Sounds like I should avoid spending top dollar at Motorola or Cingular. Do you trust all these side shops on the net? I seem to have got cheap stuff in the past such as batteries in a box (not OEM) but didn't last long. Should I look for just OEM stuff?

Go for the Mobile Phone Tools, it's made by Motorola. I just ordered a package deal that had the CD and an OEM cable all together. Get the latest version you can find and once you get it installed, update it for free and get the newest version. You can get them at places like
www.daydeal.com & http://factorydirectcellular.com
I like those places, I've never had problems with them.
