Change Skin Crashes My V551!
Whenever I try to change the skin under Settings->Personalize, my V551 crashes and reboot without changing the skin. I thought something was wrong with my phone and got it replaced under the warranty. My replacement phone does the same. Is this a bug?

Mine does'nt do that, the only bug I have found so far is.... whenever the phone is in "Vibrate" mode, the phone can't find/pair with my BT headset. Also, while on vibrate mode, when I'm dialing a number I can't hear the keypad on the headset, it would remind silent until the phone starts ringing on the other end. I think this is meant to be this way (since the phone is in vibrate...) I was thinking about it, and I realized that when the phone is...

My phone does [what I believe to be] the exact same, frustrating-as-all-get-out, thing.
I was able to change the skin once, upon the very first power-up, when the phone asked me if I wanted to personalize. After that, crashes every time (white screen, blank screen, plain blue start-up screen, old skin).
HOWEVER -- After a skin-change-induced-crash, if I then power off, and back on, the phone will ask me once again if I want to personalize. If I say yes, and change the skin, THEN I succeed in doing so (the phone says "skin changed" or something similar, and it has indeed changed). Must be a software issue or something similarly annoying.

i got my phone about 2 weeks ago and i havent been able to change the skin either. when i try i get the white screen...... 😢

The EXACT same thing happens to me, but I don't care too much because I happen to like the stock skin.

i don't know whats wrong w/ all ur phones, but mine and both of my parents work just fine changing skins

well, i really don't know what to tell you guys, maybe you have the AA phones that have been mentioned in this forum before. some people were saying they have had a lot of problems and that they all had AA as the last part of the left code at the bottom of the top label, from what i understood, this was the first batch and had many bugs

No, it's not just AA phones... One of my BA phones did it too. Fortunately, my half a dozen v600's have "trained" well--just yank the battery out when it happens! Works like a charm short-term on all v series, can't really comment on long-term effects, so would not abuse without a need.

I did to have the same problem with my at&t v551 so I called back in and got it replaced and wut do you know same problem but what I really have a problem with the phone disconnecting in the middle of a call is there a way to fix this because my old v505 worked somtimes a little better than my v551.
