I have had this phone on cingulars service for about 3 months and it has been fine until 2 days ago when i would be talking to somebody it would be really low. The volume was all the way up to 7 and i couldn't hear crap. Now i can not hear at all but when it is on speaker phone it is fine. I don't think its cingulars service because i don't hear anything even when i have full reception. If anyone knows anything could you please let me know and let me know what i should do. Thanks

I have the exact same problem. Did you ever resolve yours. I called Motorola help line and they told me I needed to mail my phone in and it would take 2 weeks for them to check it out and repair it!

YEah, call up cingular's warranty exchange line, they will mail you a replacement in 2 days, and then you ship yours out using their box and packing slip

This is a common problem with almost all of the V series flip phones. If the outside speaker works and the ear piece does not, then it is a connection problem inside. The ear piece is not hard wired into the phone. There is a ribbon cable with 2 soldered points that make contact with a connection on the back of the ear piece. The area for this "connection" is relatively small and a simple drop or wear and tear can move the area a fraction of an inch. A few things can be done about this:
First, if it is under warranty return it to the store and have a salesman call and state that the phone is in good condition prior to using the exchange program.

If it is out of warranty here are a few tricks;
