V551 Ringtones and System Error
Hi,
I just got a new V551 (yeah I know its arcahic now) and I'm having trouble putting custom ringtones on my phone.
When I try using a BlueTooth adapter i get a System Error when trying to access uploaded songs.
Also-- is there a way to put songs on my phone without getting charged for internet fees? (I keep on getting a System Error when accessing songs that i uploaded to my FTP server).
Finally-- is the only other option a USB cord?

I have never used a bluetooth adapter so can't tell you what to do. You can try going over to www.motomodders.net to see if they can help. Check the R47 forum and ask.
I assume you are referring to MP3s. I don't know if the phones will work on an FTP server. But I DO know for a fact they will work fine with HTTP. So you could upload the files to a web server and download them to the phone like that. You would get charged for any data usage unless you have a data package on your plan.
Just open up the WebAccess menu on the phone and use the GoTo URL option and put in the full URL to the file you are trying to go after.

Though by doing this your MP3 will end up with a little 'lock' symbol on it....
