Will replace V600 @ Cingular
Just found out that we will no longer carry the V600. V551 will replace until A630 comes out. V551 should be available early October.

😕 I've been hearing a 3rd quarter release for the A630. If the 551 is replacing the 600 in Oct. that would imply a 4th quarter or even 1st quarter 2005 for the 630. I know it's common for delays, but Moto JUST announced the 551, hasn't even placed it on their website yet. The A630's been public for quite a while AND has FCC approval. Are you sure that something didn't get turned around somewhere? They can't release a phone that hasn't been FCC approved.

I doubt that's the case since Moto announced that the A630 is due for a late summer release.

october isnt summer though, that would mean fall, Q4, the a630 is on the cingular website for ringtones/graphics when u log into my wireless window, its ptobably coming soon.

sweet I just noticed that. My money's still on that replacing the v600, at least until the 551 is released, it's EDGE capable, so it'll be the top-of-the-line when it comes.

that was the point. if the a630 comes out in summer, it will be out before the v551. I was stating that his logic of the V551 coming out until the A630 is ready was wrong.

I'm going to warranty out my V600 with Cingular, but if I wait till the V551 comes out, will they replace it with that instead of just a fixed V600? I'd rather have the V551 because of it's edge capabilities and video recording...

More than likely they'd replace it with a V600 unless they just don't have anymore available.

😕
Wouldn't the logical replacement be the v620? Other than the v551 having EDGE (which I personally don't need), I see it as a step down from the v600. First and foremost, the v551 is a plastic body, where the "flagship" Motorola offerings tend to be metal clad. (Which for Cingular, will likely be the V3 Razr when it's released)
