Samsung SCH-N330

For those of you out there like me who need a very loud ringer I thought you might be interested in this info. Go to Xringer on Verizon's get it now, then go to the star trek section, then select the "sonar" ringtone. I cannot believe how loud it is...There are also some other very cool ringtones. I have the communicator sounds as my regular ring tone and the bridge hail as my message tone. I also created a cool screensave since I am a mega sci-fi geek. if anyone wants it I posted it at...

I missed many calls becasue of this, and theres nothing about it in the manual. Is there a way to stop the phone from shutting down? I need a phone that can stay on and charge at the same time. Does it shut off to save the battery ? This sucks if it does because no other phone does that, by the way this is my first samsung phone. any solutions to this is greatly appreciated.

I picked mine up last night. After about 30 mins of the VZW store trying to figure out how to enter it in their system, I was in line at tech support waiting for them to transfer the information from my old phone to my new N330.

A few things about this phone:

Phone
It is very light. I hardly notice it in my pocket. I wish it came with a holster, or pouch of some sort. The buttons "push" with a solid feel and a "click". Speaker phone works very well - very clear on both ends. It does work with the "slide" closed. I am impressed.

Reception
I do notice slightly decreased reception. For example - with my A530 I had reception in my garage, and when I pulled in last night, my new N330 lost service. Not a big deal to me.

Anyone figure out how to get the phone to work while closed? I find it rather annoying that I have to open the phone to turn it on or off... I previously had a Kyocera SE47 slider and had to take out the magnet to get it to work while closed.

Just got my new N330 yesterday. So far I like the phone OK...very easy to program/set-up and use. Having a LG-4500 previously, having a little bit of a time getting use to the small size. This is my 1st bar/slider phone. Does seem to hold a signal a bit better than my LG did indoors.

Question...One thing I've noticed over my LG is that when I'm listening to a conversation, if someone is talking in the background on the other end, the sound seems to kinda cut in and out...or how can I describe it...like "blurp". My LG was more of a constant or consistant sound or background noise, this one goes silent. As far as hearing the person who's actually speaking in their mouthpiece, when they speak I hear them just fine. The caller also said...

When I try to change my wallpaper or my ringtones it gives me a option for preloaded or my image/sounds. When I select it it then says please download first. How do you do that? I tried sending it to my self but I dont know how. I dont see a data port to connect it to my computer. Anybody know whats up?

Hey, peeps. Doens't this phone look like the matrix phone. Liek the slidin design. But it might be a lil smaller.

I have been unable to get the ring&vibe feature to work with custom ringtones. Is it only operational with built in ringtones? Would hpe not but if so I guess I will have to live with it. Was finally able to get the Bugs and mouse playing piano wallpaper downloaded and cannot have any other ringer besides the rhapsody bugs ringtone with it.

So i just got Bitpim and i dont know which phone to select since the n330 is not listed. I keep getting errors and was wondering if anyone knew the answer?.?.? ☹️

To turn on the backlight while the screen isnt extended push and hold the volume button on the side.

I'm not so sure I like this phone. I've had one nasty static issue. If it comes back again, the phone itself will go back to Verizon.

Wish it had some games preprogrammed on it.

Just called the store today to see if they had the phone and the guy said yes and said I could get it today. When down there paid nothing for it and after they manually programmed it since it is not in the system yet it works fine.. only thing is I cant tell if you can call and answer w/ out the slide going up...

I*ve never watched the release of a phone through Verzion (or any company for that matter) this closely before so:

Whenever the N330 is released will it be in EVERY Verizon store on that release day or will some stores/parts of the country get it first?

VZW Stores are getting shipments Wednesday,4/20. Product will be shelved on 4/21. $69.00 for 2 yr contract. $189.99 full retail.

The release date is 5/2/05 - trust me.

Reputable sources at Immersion Corp. have let me know to keep watch for a release sometime in April.

I hope so as I need a new phone! 😁
