Problems with synch-ing
What is synch exactly? I have read that some people can get the internet off of their phone with Bluetooth. But the manual makes it sound completely different. I thought since I have a Sony Vaio laptop and I have a SONY Ericsson cell phone that something like this would be easier to figure out but I guess not ☹️ ! If it is true that I can get connected to the internet through my phone, what are the steps to do this knowing I have a Sony laptop? OH! And when I'm downloading any sort of media file from the net to my laptop, and then from my comp to the memory stick, how do I retrieve it from the phone?

If you put the files in the dirs that already exist on the memory card, like 'audio', 'images', 'themes', etc, then the phone will automatically pick them up and they will be in your media lists. But games and apps cannot be used from the stick at all.

Yes, i use the bluetooth to tether to my laptop, and get internet access [vpn for work even]

Do you have an Mmode plan for this? Or are you using EDGE? I am on mmode b/c technically I am still on ATT (Blue) - they told me I cant unless I migrate to Cingular side (orange).

Lucky for my my work pays for an unlimited Edge plan. FWIW, we are still "blue" and have a nice edge plan.... call around i think you can keep blue if you are pushy

I have called three times: I can not get them to budge on purchasing or signing up for an EDGE (or Data Connect via PDA) Plan with this phone. They say I have to go Treo or to a laptop connect plan (which I dont)need. MMODE SUCKS!!!- too slow- not real good content etc. I'll probably downgrade to a lower mmode plan just to do some basic stuff like purchase the occasional ringtone etc; otherwise the phone is great.
