The Sony Ericsson S710a should be available from their website and from Cingular any day (or week, depending on how much longer Cingular continues to delay the launch) now.

I have been waiting for this phone forever!! and i already got my new car (Acura TL) with bluetooth BUT I CANT USE IT, WTF!!!!! (just venting) I want to be able to use the s710 with my new car at least till my 4 YEAR LEASE IS UP.

I keep hearing everyone wants to get the Media Works package now before they take it away, because of the Unlimited Internet.

My question is this:

Why does everyone want the unlimited internet on this phone so bad? Can it do something different that my current v400 or lg L1400 can do? I don't see why you would need more than 5 mb or whatever they are going to be giving out...the s710 doesn't have an HTML browser or anything, right?

With the S710a and the HCB-300 bluetooth car piece, is there anything else I need/should get to make my car fully bluethooth friendly?

Okay, i know Motorollas have been crap lately (i personaly returned three mpx 220's to best buy), but this is a feature jamed phone. Does anyone know the cons of this phone vs our beloved s710? Or how much it might be?

He confirmed that SE is to ship the S710's to Cingular on Feb 14th. This would seem to confirm the reports we've all been hearing about a possible launch date for Cingular on or around Feb 17th.

For those of you in this forum who work in direct sales (such as myself) and have won one of the phones..... He confirmed that the phones will be shipped to us as they are released in our individual markets. We will NOT have to wait until the end of the TrainGainSE contest to receive our phones. The SonyStyle e-dollars are the only thing you have to wait until the end of the contest for.

T-Mobile released the S700i for say $350 on a 2 year contract? At this point, I'd say f Cingular simply out of spite.

Anyone know when Cingular will honor the AT&T business discounts? I get a 7% monthly discount and 30% equipment discount from AT&T. If the plans are changing for the worse at Cingular, I might wanna go for the $59.99 AT&T plan (800 AT, Unlim N&W, 7pm nights [I think], 1 yr contract, $9.99 extra line).

But, of course, I'm trying to structure all of this around the S710a, which I desperately want. I could go with the AT&T plan, but lose out on the rollover (and I'd have to buy an unlocked S710a). Or, wait until the S710a comes out on Cingular (but miss out on the 59.99 850 AT min + $9.99 extra line deal).

I'm thinking of waiting until the day before the plan rates change, and get a free phone until the sony comes out.

Well, i have an old ass phone currently. If i get a phone online that dosent come with a sim card, how much does it cost to get one from cingular? and will i have to sign a new contract to get the sim card? my contract is up in March and i would like to not having to sign a new one. So if bought that phone could i get a new cell phone could i do it without signing a new contract.

and i will be upgrading to nation wide service, will that cause a new contract as well?????

Hi, i'm wondering if this phone will utilize MS DUO or Pro DUO, i've heard contradicting stories. I'm ordering a MS Pro DUO to use in my Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable)which, coincidently, i'm also eagerly awaiting. If this media works with the S710a, that would be ideal. 😎

From what I hear this phone will be rolled out along with new rate plans on Feb.13. Have not seen anything on pricing yet though.

I am in the market for a new phone within the next 6 months. I am with Cingulair. Debating between these two phones. I want a cool phone but most importantly something that works, ie I can make and receive calls without problems. I have had Panasonic GU87 for the past two years or so and it has been a nightmare. I live in NYC and have to reboot the thing everytime I step out of the subway or out of an elevator and sometimes multiple times. Lately it has been completely losing the network for no reason, killing the battery. Other than that it is a good phone. I am tired of the frustration and am looking for a new one, any thoughts as to witch will perform better the s710a or v635.

I am kinda leaning towards the s710a, like...
