To use this phone with other companies like Verizon or Sprint? I've hear of people "Buying it outright". What does that mean? Thanks for the help. 🙂

no, this phone works on gsm and verizon works on cdma. won't work. sorry

sprint and verizon are cdma
nextel is tdma iden
and the 7100t is gsm.

seeing that rim came out with a cdma phone last year, i'd bet eventually they'll come up with a new form factor i bet.
