7100 or 7290?? HELP!!!
Please advise. Which phone is better? Is it really annoying to have a phone and just use blackberry for data? Work in real estate, dont absolutely need to respond to emails right away...
Also, which is better Cingular or T_Mobil?
I live in New York City are, and have heard mixed reviews.
Thanks!! 😕

I would recommend the 7100. It feels and looks more like a phone and is relatively close to the same price. Also, you will probably have a lower monthly price with tmobile. I have much experience with Cingular but not tmobile.

If you are in real estate, why not consider the Treo 650? It has a realy nice camera that may come in handy with your type of work.
I use the free XpressMail from Cingular on mine. You can have up to three different email addresses forwarded to the phone. You can also check mail on the web if on a pc at home/office.

If you go into a t-mobile corp store, a sales rep can pull up any address in the US and show you what type of coverage you will recieve in a given area. also your monthly bill will be significantly lower with a t-mobile plan. with their unlimited data add on you can forward up to ten email accounts, more than the xpressmail. also ive heard of software that will allow you to access MLS quite nicely on the 7100t 🙂

From what I understand Xpressmail is different than the blackberry client, I know for a fact that with cingular's blackberry, just like t-mobile, you can have up to ten email accounts. I'm pretty sure that you can use Xpressmail with just about any other cingular phone, however I could be wrong on that. I know for a fact though that it is used with the Treo for email, and just like you said it Xpressmail does not support as many different email accounts as Blackberry does.

Your better off with the 7100, it offers all the features for a lower price than the 7290. You should stick with to Cingular, the do have the largest voice/data coverage over any competitor out there. T-Mobile works off 1900MHZ which is the old Cingular, and Cingular works off of 850, but Cingular customers have the advantage since they can use both networks when T-Mobile can only use 1900.
