Interesting idea, removing traditional dialing options for voice dial, at the expense of original styling, but until Nokia(as well as all other manufacturers) create a better voice interface that is not only accurate but also fast, they're never going to sell a product like this.

Frank Nuovo (head of Nokia design US) and he indicated it was a secondary phone you might take out for the evening - so not something you would use everyday.

Interestingly has anyone seen the Virtu phones. I saw one person - absolutely beautiful.

Just though i would let you know that virtu phones are made by minimum paid temp workers in a plastic factory in banbury and are not the hand crafted phones people think they are!!
I used to make them.
I was a temp worker there with no qualifications.

Actually LG has a very accurate and fast voice dialing system, so its not inconcevable that Nokia might have a similar system as well.

That may be true, but there are so many situations where having voice dial as the sole input device (a spinning wheel, c'mon!) may be a pain in the ass... Situations like a quiet classroom, on the subway where it's really loud - what does Nokia have planned for this?

Still, a very interesting design. I'd like to play with one just to see how well it works.

looks like a concept phone...really putting it out there to get responses

maybe what is conceivable is having this device with a nice screen with a trackwheel like a blackberry or something
it is a high end device so they won't be worried about joe schmo punching in numbers at the construction site...more for the business professional...plus aloto of companies seem to be leaning/recommending customers to use headsets with their phones

you can dial by teo ways voice or using that spinning wheel thing that they got...more interested on how the wheel is gonna work, than the voice activated dialing.

That's what I'm wondering too. In my head I'm thinking it will be somewhat similar to the spinning wheel control on some AOC monitors, but that's all I have to draw on.
