INSIDE INFO ON THE 5600
HAY I GOT SOME INFO FROM SPRINT OF AN UPDATE ABOUT THE 5600...THE INFO ARE FINAL TOO SO THATS A GD THING BUT HERE IT GOES:
1.ITS GONNA HAVE 1.3 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA AND CAMCORDER.
2. CAMERA MACRO SWITCH: CAPTURES EXTREME CLOSE-UP SHOTS.
3.REMOVABLE MINISD MEMORY CARD
4.BUILT IN MP3 PLAYER
5.BUILT IN SPRINT MEDIA PLAYER

Thanks for the SRP. Lots of people were wondering if it was $449.99 or the lower $429.99. I am assuming that if this is the price then it will cost you about $279.99 at a Sprint PCS store, retailer or Telesales and $249.99 online on the Sprint PCS website.

According to another thread in the forum where it talkes something about a release date and price for the 5600 will be $379.99 they also have links to documents proving it. Hope this helps you.

I really don't know where you got your information from, but it really does not look accurate. BestBuy official documents state the release price being $379.99, which is a standard list price for new Sprint phones. Research looks as if, most newly released Sanyo and Samsung phones are cometetively priced with each other (since they are competitors) - and usually start at around $350 - $380. The most recent Sanyo released (MM-7400) was $349.99 starting and the most recent Samsung (MM-A700) starting at $379.99. Since Samsung is going to very soon release the A800/0, Sanyo is sure to competitively price it's newest to the market. The only phones I've seen that have raised the bar past $400 are OS intergrated phones, meaning most similar to PDA'...

You mean with the exception of Motorolas Bluetooth Verizon Phone right? If memory serves was well over 400$ when it first came out and had almost the same features as this new 5600 and no OS on it.

I'm not exactly sure what phone your talking about that was released through Verizon, but there's a simple explanation. There are a couple major things that affect the reason it was so high, and one of them is the fact that it's Bluetooth. Being that it is such a newer in-demand technology, of course they're going to throw up the price. Not to mention the fact, if [Verizon] did not have a closely comparable phone of it's kinda (including the Bluetooth tech.), then what a excellent marketing decision to make the price high for those wanting the technology, with no other alternative. Until of course something else in competition comes out and the price is then dropped dramatically to keep in line with it's competition. Most providers have what...

my info came from brightpoint a reseller for sprint that i have an account with to sell sprint phones...they sent me an email and i posted it to help u guys out...but thats the info on the email so if u dont like i am sorry i am too looking for that phone to come out and if best buy is cheaper great ill get it from thier becouse i have to pay full price anyways..............
