I've been lookin' around this forum and I saw a topic on rebates. So are there certain condition I have to meet to get rabates on new phones or sumthin'? I know my mom got a new Sanyo SCP-8200 for free b/c we added another line or sumthin' (We have a family plan) .

I've had the same phone (scp 5150, very durable) for almost 3 yrs (2 years, 8 months). I did get the 3 yr insurance from BB and nuthin' had been wrong w/ my phone until a 3 months ago. It's stuck on earpiece mode, I dunno why. So I've been usin' a earpiece eversince. I can't hear anythin' w/o the earpiece.

OK enough about that. So is there a deal I can get? I've been waitin' for this phone for a while, dealin' w/ my crappy headset n such. It's either this or use my $300 i...

ummm, why don't you just get a new phone through the service plan @ BB. as long as your phone doesn't have any obvious abuse signs to it you should be able to call the 800# and get it replaced. you should be able to pick any phone the same price as the 5150 at time of purchase. I had that exact problem with my 5150, it happened after only 6 months of use.

I'm gunna wait until the 5600 comes out to get that. You can put the Insurance money towards a more expensive phone right? I'll deal w/ the earpiece thing for now.

It doens't have any signs of abuse but it has been a long time, and there is a lot of "wear and tear" on it.

you shouldn't have any probs with it than. and yes, you can put the money towards a new phone.

I would suggest going to your local store and asking how they deal with the service plans. they may be able to do an in-store swap.

Are you talkin about Best Buy, or The Sprint Store?

I will go when the phone comes out.

Best Buy. I would go or call. I would suggest going ahead of time, before you actually can get the phone. that way you will know what to expect. If they give you any trouble, I would argue that you have to have an in-store exchange as that was the terms of the service plan. Some stores have new terms, regretfully the ones by me I know all do, you have to call the 800 #, good luck getting them to replace the phone.

I would hold off until the phone is released because you are eligible for an upgrade but if they do a swap it automatically resets the 18 month period so wait till the phone comes out before you do anything. Just my opinion.
