Sanyo MM-5600
Hi all, new to the forum and excited to the new Sanyo 5600
Hi all, I am new to this group so please bear with me.
In any event, I am excited about the new Sanyo MM-5600 and the rich features. I am wondering with the upcoming release of Sprint's new EV-DO 3G network, will the 5600 having multimedia capabilities, be compatible to the new and improved network or will only new phones (as in the case with Verizon's V-Cast) be issued specifically for the 3G network?

The 5600 does not have an EV-DO chipset so it will not be able to take advantage of Sprints upcoming 3G Network. I assume that we may see a slight increase in performace but not EV-DO quality. You will have to get a new phone once EV-DO is rolled out but full EV-DO Rev. A deployment isn't estimated to be completed until end of 2006 so enjoy the 5600 and wait till Sanyo releases another beast that we can use on EV-DO.
