Low Light Photo Quality compared to Other Phones

Many people are asking why this phone takes such poor photos at night.

In simple terms, the problem has to do with the number of Pixels being pushed through on such a small image sensor. It wont matter much if it's CCD or CMOS.

The image sensor on the Sanyo Phones have all been about the same size but as the resolution of the camera goes up it introduces more noise at lower light levels. If you go back to the 8100 you will see it works AWESOME at low light levels but the images are a crappy 240x320

Take a look at the Verizon Motorola V710 (listed here in Phonescoop) it has the same problem.

I had the Samsung A700 and it too was awful compared to my Ol' 5500/8100/etc.

Samsung A800 and A940 have big lenses. Both are 2MP CCD camera's. CCD vs. CMOS has a major effect of photos.
