EVDO - EVDV

I've read a little about this technology. I don't know much, but from what I understand of it it's supposed to be a leap for internet and messaging. Can anybody tell me if it's worth waiting for? In other words, the next phone by Sanyo will more than likely have this EVDO or EVDV technology. If this is the case it seems this is the last phone that will have all the bells and whistles without EVDO... I'm sure there will be more without the EV stuff, but they won't be like this. The display on the 5600 is what I'm desiring the most. Does anybody know if it will allow multimedia screensavers? I use MatrixM.com for most backgrounds and they have some that are animated, but my current phone isn't supported. Does anybody know how this phone will s...

Video Recording length and Video Mail?

I had originally posted this as a reply to another thread but no one really responded and I still want to know if anyone out there has any information regarding this. On the thread they were talking about the MiniSD and how it can allow you to record more than an hour of video depending on the size of the memory card. I believe these come as big is 512MB so far perhaps up to 1GB. This was my response if anyone has any information please post.

Response:

I am glad someone posted this question. It was also posted at the readylinkusers.com forum but no one was able to actually give an asnwer. By your repsonse it seems that you can record 90 minutes of straight video or more depending on the size of the card. If this is true than this is t...

Sanyo 5600

I'm waiting on the Sony Ericsson S710a really but man i've always wanted a Sanyo and this one basically has everything i want. I would go with sprint but to get everything covered would cost to much. Man if only it had Ev-do, animated wallpapers and 3d games and i would get this phone over the S710a. To be honest i'm still deciding it really all depends on the ratings both of these phones get.

Where the **** is phone already?

It's Feburary. What the **** is Sprint waiting for? Verizon had 3 EVDO phones out and Cingular's getting the Sony Ericsson S710a soon. So why the ****ing holdup? What is Sprint getting like Verizon all of a sudden? 😡

keypad color

i was just wondering if anyone knew what color the keys were going to light up on the 5600...awhile ago i was about to buy the 8200 but found out that the keypad backlight was an ugly puke-green yellowish color that nearly made me sick every time i opened it in the dark...i love the blue backlight of the 4500 and 7400...what color's this one gonna be?

$429.99 price for MM-5600

Don't forget the huge inventory of MM-7400 sprint has. That phone is $349.99
This phone will be $80 more. Just like the 7400 is $80 more than the 8200.
BTY both the 8200 and 7400 are awesome phones as well. Someone who wants the 5600 will have to pay for it. I know I will. They could charge $499. and I'd buy it. (don't get any ideas Sprint!!--keep it at the $429 price Thanx)

Calendar Options

Does anyone have more info on the calendar features of this phone? I'm tired of carrying a planner... and I'm ready to upgrade from my old "Freebie" 2G phone and spend some cash on a new phone. I had plans to buy the Samsung I550, but it is no longer an option.
So if the 5600 has an easy to use calendar, I'll buy it. Or is the only other option with close features the Treo 650?
Thanks in advance!

INFO ABOUT THE MM-5600

I'm not exactly sure what phone your talking about that was released through Verizon, but there's a simple explanation. There are a couple major things that affect the reason it was so high, and one of them is the fact that it's Bluetooth. Being that it is such a newer in-demand technology, of course they're going to throw up the price. Not to mention the fact, if [Verizon] did not have a closely comparable phone of it's kinda (including the Bluetooth tech.), then what a excellent marketing decision to make the price high for those wanting the technology, with no other alternative. Until of course something else in competition comes out and the price is then dropped dramatically to keep in line with it's competition. Most providers have what...

Ringer ID

😡 This phone does not support ringer ID. Meaning you can not set a specific ringer to a person or number in your phone book. This is a major feature that should be included.

Battery Life

Now that its been approved is there anyway to find out the battery life on this thing. That could be a deal breaker for me. I need at least 3.5 hrs. talktime but with all the specs I hope this one handle that.

EV-DO

There is a lot of questions about these phones and whether or not they are EV-DO capable. Sprint is currently making EV-DO a high priority, however they want to launch the whole network at the same time. That takes time and all the phones due to be released in the first half of this year for Sprint will NOT be EV-DO capable. The only network that will launch a phone with this technology in the first half is Verizon. The merger also slows down the launch of the faster technology, know that Sprint prides itself on its technology leaps and it won't be too much longer.
