Trouble. Verizon UNlaunches
Dropped ancher? Put it in dry dock? Verizon has stopped selling the Kyocera Duraforce Ultra 5G. Within a week of its first sales Verizon's website said that it was unavailable to order. A few days later they showed a shipping date of late March and a few days after that it showed a shipping date of April 1 2021. As of March 31st Verizon has removed the phone from their website. There are problems with the screen becoming unresponsive which is reset by hitting the power button and then unlocking the phone again. There are also problems with the screen touching itself. If you go into the developer section and turn on "show touches" (older phones was show taps), you will see a little circle show up for a second or so after you touch the phon...

Just a vote of support here - I'm having both of these same issues (non-responsive screen, and screen going wild with its own touches). I decided to go check the Verizon page to read other reviews and found it to be taken down...very interesting. I like the phone a lot otherwise and haven't called Verizon or Kyocera, but am hoping that they are aware of the issues and working on a fix. Hopefully one of these mornings I'll wake up to an update notification and life will be good again.

Did you ever figure it out? I got the same issues with mine?

I did a factory reset. There was an update from Verizon about a week ago. I've tried it in safe mode. I've tried it with glove touch mode off. The problem still exists. It doesn't happen real often. It seems to be slightly worse if you got a lot of fingerprint smudges on the screen, but it can happen even if the screen is really clean. Further research on the internet finds other phones experiencing similar things for a couple years now and some of those call it "ghost touches", but the screen will sometimes just simply freeze also. So it's apparently two separate issues that are not going away on some of these phones. How many, what are the odds of it happening again if you exchage it, I don't know.

Just got the 5g ultra from Verizon wireless website at the end of June, and I want to throw it in the woods. All the same problems you have, jumping screen by itself, and freezes up unresponsive and have to lockout and unlock then it's only responsive for a few seconds if I'm playing a game.

I am regretting this DuraForce Ultra and I'm also getting super annoyed at the Verizon carrier for this product. Out of the box, this phone was frozen and needed a master reset through safe mode...
I should have brought it back right then.
The Ghost Touches pulling down menus and making selections, the network drops... screen freezing.. pretty sure it overheated already.
Has anyone noticed that the audio recording is so low that nobody can hear you from any platform?
What's worse now, I've had this phone for less than a month and have NEVER dropped it. I got a little mud splashed on the top of the screen by the earpiece and went to wipe it with my shirt and a Hairline fracture/crack developed from just the light pressure ...

Not sure if anyone is following this thread but I have had exactly the same issues. The problem seems to come and go. However, and I'm probably jinxing things here, I just did the October update to the phone and I haven't seen the problem reoccur and the phone also seems much faster. I also noticed that the automatic screen brightness now appears to be working correctly (it also had issues on my phone). So fingers crossed that it is finally fixed.
