Problems Synch-ing with PC
I installed EasyStudio II File Manager (comes with phone) last night - Horrible program! It will not recognize my phone at all when I plugged into each USB port separately, I had to eventually uninstall after 1 hour of jacking with it.
Is anyone else having this problem, or have a remedy?

I had a similar problem. After carefully following the instructions and installing the s/w before connecting the phone, my phone still wasn't recognized by my PC.
Everytime it connected, my pc (running XP) would detect new h/w and try to install drivers (but the sw was already installed). I tried ignoring and installing, but neither worked.
Finally, I called Samsung and those guys had no clue (their 'data' guys weren't in). The best they could do was to ask me to deinstall and reinstall. I did this 3 times and it finally worked. Go figure.
The program itself is pretty skinny. Samsung says that carriers like Cingular specify what capabilites they can/can't offer. Talking to their customer service and other people, I KNOW that ...

I was on the phone with a level 2 rep.
To sync with a PC requires a third party software. So I asked which one will work. The responce was we do not endorse any product. So customer support was not an option.
Every third party software that I have looked at does not support the P777. So it looks like Cigular will be get a return.

IF u goto samsungs website and goto p777 accessories they have a data kit with sw...i think u can edit and transfer info from address book.

But Cingular customer service and tech support is one of the worst around. Sorry, but I like their phones and plans (although they're getting bad). Their support SUCKS! OK, sorry.
What I DO know is that this is possible. A Samsung customer support guy was very helpful and knowledgable (he owned the phone). He had software that allowed this (although second level support and the data team will try to deny or keep tight lipped about it). I think it is the Easy GPRS software, but the data guy explained that he's not supposed to advise this since Cingular expressedly stipulates what features can or can't be accessed.
The data guy even told me that the Korean website may give a version of GPRS that facilitates this, but of course, the...

yeah thats what i figured...did he say only the korean version? because they have a english version at the samsung webstie...they run $79 i think

Well, he did say Korean version, but didn't say if there were other alternative languge/countries. Some other boards posted links that were no longer valid.
He's the Data guy and seemed to know what he was talking about although his 'bedside manner' wasn't too good. These guys don't care too much WHAT customers think.

i dont see why the korean version would hae that capability and the english version wouldnt..im alsmot sure the english version has that feature..they r both EASY GPRS Software

I'm thinking that part of it may be just how to get a copy of the software as a free download. I searched the US site for it and it didn't come up.
Two sources from Samsung have told me that software should do the trick.

yeah good luck in findin the software for free...im sure u have to purchase it since it cost $79 with the cable etc. again unlike nokia there software is free.
