P777 at Amazon
Seems as though you can pick up the P777 at Amazon for 130 bucks after rebates. But I'm reading the fine print, and am I wrong, or is it invalid if you want to transfer your existing phone number from another carrier? Anyone have any experience with buying through Amazon, and their rebate policy? I emailed their Customer service, but no word yet...

I was curious about this too. What if you have cingular already, your contract is up and want to buy from them?
Dont lose the number right?

Can you add the link to where that is. Which fine print?

You're right. Seems you can't keep your phone # w/previous carrier and you would have to wait 180 days to recieve rebate anyway......

Here's the response I got from Amazon, for future use:
Thanks for writing to us at Amazon.com.
Depending on the carrier, Local Number Portability may allow you to
move your number from your current provider to a new service provider.
Since Cingular phones arrive activated with a pre-selected phone
number, the number portability option is not available with the
carrier at that time. Unfortunately, in order to port your previous
number, Cingular will cancel the account Amazon.com has activated and
activate a new account with the ported number. This process would
make you ineligible for the Amazon.com rebates.
We recommend you consult with both your current provider and the
potential new provider, to determine any fees.
