This is why you can't use your MP3's as ringtones.....they want you to pay for them....

I just got around it by using 3Gupload to upload my mp3's.

3G Upload? What is that and how do you get it? Is it an application to download?

It's a website (http://www.3gupload.com/) that allows you to upload your own MP3's for up to 30 seconds (you can choose the time frame thru the site). It's the easiest, best, site for 3G phones.
