DisCONTINUED?"????
Can't Believe the phone is discontinued...no wonder i haven't seen it on the cingular website....
...
I talked to an agent in a Cingular store the other day, and she lied and told me they just don't have it on display anymore. Does anyone know why it was discontinued?

Holy crap. How could this happen so soon? Were sales that bad? I've actually never seen anyone with this phone and it never even made it to the Samsung website. Odd situation. I love my P777 and really feel like it got a bad break.

I seem to have noticed that too, but look at it this way.. at least thousands of other people don't have this phone! Those who have it will be unique 🤣

I wish I felt the same. I am on my second P777. The first dropped calls and didn't connect well. Sound quality on calls was bad.
The new replacement was just the same. I am wondering if it's me or just something inherent with the phone.
Sadly, I get far better reception and sound quality with my work-issued Nokia cheapie and Siemens POS phone. Bad news for Samsung. I was soo impressed with my 307.
Has anyone else had issues with their phone?
Cingular is tight lipped but going to replace it with a Motorola.

Samsung may be discontinuing the SGH-P777 because of owner complaints about the software, lack of PIM Sync ability, and no way to import or input ringtones directly into the phone from a computer, or by key-press.

yeah i agree on the software and lack of some of the features u mentioned. but u can download EasyGPRS from samsung website which lets u manage your address book(contacts) and todo list, calender, etc using the usb cable that came with the phone. i had this phone for 6 months and had to get new ones twice because the OS would blank out and freeze on me. well i went to cingular and they gave me the sonyericsson s710a and even though its a bigger phone the sony is a much much better phone in features and software capabilities. right now i manage all my contacts, todo list, calender, mp3s, videos, etc all through bluetooth.

Cingular is getting me a RAZR. I prefer Samsung navigation and quality, but this last 777 was a real stinker.
