It looks like this phone is about to replace the recently released E315. But, why would Samsung/T-Mobile upgrade a phone so soon after it's release?

Are you sure it's a replacement for the E315 ? It may be a replacement for the E715.

You know, it might just be. I was just thinking in terms of what the E315 didn't have, i.e. internal antenna, flash, bigger external screen.
It's doesn't look like a particularly better phone than the E715, tho. I mean, the addition of the speakerphone and external 65K screen is good, but it doesn't have video capture, or as much memory as the E715. So, I don't know.
