Replacing v710 with e815
I searched through both forums and did not see this question asked, but is the plan to discontinue the v710 when the e815 comes out? If so, does that mean that the replacement insurance would provide me with an e815 if something should happen to my v710 (say, get accidentally run over three or four times in my driveway)?
I have been using an LG VX8000 since November as part of the Vcast trial and like the phone expect for 1) it is too damn big and 2) no Bluetooth. The overall quality is outstanding and the camera is top notch.

sorry for answering your question with another question, but how does one get to be able to be part of the "Vcast trial," or any other trial program for that matter? somehow if i know verizon well enough though, the 710s will not be replaced by the 815s, and we will have to buy 815s...

Vcast is the final marketing name for Verizon's mobile media service that was being trialed in DC and San Diego from around November through January. Not sure how this happened, but I was one of 500 Verizon customers selected (at random?) to be part of this trial. We were provided with a free LG VX8000 and had to participate in some brief surveys. Funny how you complain the 8000 is too damn big when in fact the e815 is just about exactly the same size as the 8000.

OK, I admit that I never checked to see how big the E815 was going to be and just assumed that it was going to be the same size as my V710.
Even if they are approximately the same size, the E815 will have Bluetooth which, even if Verizon continues to cripple the implementation, is worth a ton by being able to use it hands-free with my HS820 or in my Bluetooth-capable Chrysler Pacifica. While the VX8000 is nice, I have yet to find a wired handsfree setup that I really like.

The E815 is very close to the size of the V710. Which is very close to the size of the VX8000. They are all the same size phone, basically, and the 8000 is the lightest of the 3.

A lot of it is how the phone is designed. The VX8000 just plain looks and feels big with it being so boxy. The v710 maybe be similar in size, but with it being more rounded it appears to be a bit slimmer and feels better in the hand.
