Did Verizon "cripple" the E815's BT?

I could not find this answer in the forum. I had read where customers brought a class action suite against VZ because of what they did to the V710's BT capabilities. So I was wondering if VZ let the E815 alone? Anybody know? Thanks.

Verizon doesn't not currently support Obex profile in any handsets due to agreements with get it now... how ever if your read about the v710 you are able to do data transfer via Mobile Phone Tools you'll just have to sync the E815 as a E815m... I am very happy with the v710 and can't wait for the e815 and I could care less about OBEX since I have mobile phone tools

p.s. the E815 is approved for OBEX and the V710 was not so it'll just be a few more months before we'll know for sure but I highly doubt you will see any Verizon Bluetooth phones with OBEX

The E815 is Qualified for Generic Object Exchange, whereas the V710 was not.

That does not mean that Verizon will enable the profile, but if the E815 is shipped all over the world, count on some foreign carriers leaving the profiles alone.

That would be good news.

in other words verizon is going to cripple the bt, it is already a given. The phone is going to be get it now enabled which means there is no way in hell that verizon is going to chance losing revenue because of the bt loophole. If a phone is going to have bt and get it now on it, it is always going to be bt crippled, if it is on the verizon network, get used to it, that will never change.

How does GIN lose money for VZW because of Bluetooth?

You download the application, and you can't put it on another phone, not even the same model. There is no way to do it with the TransFlash card, or even the data cable.

Bluetooth has no magical file transfer ability that does not already exist.
