Hi,
Does anyone know of a good aftermarket antenna for the E815. Mine hangs up on everything, And has started to bend.

I have seen some on ebay, But thought maybe someone here may have tried one.
I'm looking for a lot shorter antenna
Thanks,
Ron

I purchased a stubby antenna from DayDeal.com several weeks ago. I love it! I caught the OEM antenna many times, and have dropped my phone a few times because of it. The new antenna is great. It is small enough to not get it the way, and yet big enough that I can still grab it to slide it out of the pouch case I use. And it looks really sharp to boot.

Personally, I haven't noticed a lose in signal strength. But I haven't really tried it in a signal poor area. I highly recommend this antenna for anyone looking for a stubby antenna.

Thanks for the link, Thats just what I'm looking for. Does this get rid if the long grey lower antenna housing? It looks like it just screws into the phone housing.
Is that right? Thats the only thing I don't like about the E815, It's always getting hung up on everything. (It's way too long in the closed position.

Thanks again.

If you look at the base of the antenna you will see where it unscrews. Or just twist the antenna off and you will see that most of the housing does come off with the antenna. The new antenna is really small, just over 1/4". For about $10, it was worth trying for me. I am willing to bet this is what you are looking for! 😉

Thanks for the info. Sounds like what I'm looking for. Have you had any reception problems? I live out in the sticks, And reception isn't very good here.

As I mentioned before, I really haven't tested it in a reception poor area, but I can say that it works at my house, where my old phone didn't even with the OEM antenna. Since using it, I have not dropped a call.

You might want to get more then one antenna. Get the stubby, and get a longer one (or use the OEM one) for times that you need the extra boost. It is so easy to change the antenna, why not keep an extra on hand for the times you need it? 😉

for anyone else looking.....
i researched quite a bit( 2-3 mo. ago) and found a guy through HowardForum.com that makes stubbie antennas for your e815. very short (hard to believe it works), looks great, and $20 out the door, including shipping. unlike others which i read seem to drop a bit in reception, this one hasn't. i read quite a few people who liked the Daydeal ones, but most said they lost a bit of signal.
i'm not plugging this guy, but you will NOT be let down.
as it's been several months since i bought, I'd have to dig to find his exact info on how to reach, but do a search on that forum using bluedayz69@yahoo.com or tommy chung (i believe that's his name), or stubbie antennas for moto e815's. if you just send him an email, h...

Just wanted to update about the smaller antenna. I have been using it for about a week and have found that in my area (in the boonies) That the smaller antenna will not work at all.
I have been carring both of the antennas and when I can't get any reciption with the small antenna, I screw on the stock antenna, And it works great.

That's too bad, Cause I really liked the looks of the smaller antenna.

Has anyone elese used any type of a smaller antenna where reception is known to be bad? I would love to get some sort of a smaller antenna on this phone, Or I may trade it off.

I've been using this stubby antenna for 3 days now. I love it. Thanks for mentioning it. The phone is a lot easier to get out of my pocket now.

So far, I don't have reception problems. At work, (in a large building), I lose reception as I walk down the hall, away from the entrance. I'm losing at about the same distance from the door as I do with the original antenna, for what it's worth.
