1gb MicroSD GUIDE for e816 (made to support 512mb max)
I read on ampd mobiles website that the HOLLYWOOD (Motorola e816) supported up to 1GB microsd memory card. I looked up the e816 on motorola.com and it states there that the phone was made to only support up to 512mb expansion memory. I kept trying to format the 1gb card with the phone and it would just freeze and reset. I decided to give this a try and it works perfectly:
1: Turn off your Motorola Hollywood e816.
2: Insert the 128MB card into the phone that came with it.
3: Turn on your phone and wait for the main screen to load.
4: Hit the MENU key and go to PHONE INFO (Option 9).
5: Highlight STORAGE DEVICES and hit SELECT.
6: Highlight TRANS-T-Flash and hit the MENU key.
7: Make sure FORMAT is highlighted and press SELECT.

Great info. Have not tried it but will certainly keep in mind.

I wish I'd read this before 🙂 . I had the same problem. I use a 1GB card with an E815 (Verizon phone). When I used it with the E816, the phone couldn't reboot. I inserted this 1GB back to the E815, and it couldn't reboot either (it used to work just fine with this 1GB card). This freaked me out a little bit. Finally I basically tried the same thing you mentioned here, and it worked. The Hollywood now shows the 1GB card with all the songs I have on it.
I still have a problem, though. I can't create playlist with the Hollywood (either using the 1GB card or the phone's internal memory). The method I used to use with my E815 doesn't work with the E816 :-(. Any suggestion, anyone??
