Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

has anybody used a 1 GB card in the e815 on verizon?

I've had my E815 for almost a year now, having a V710 for the two years prior.

I've always been interested in Mobile Phone Tools, but was never sure of a few things.

All I've ever read about it was that one could sync it with their PC using Outlook. My specific questions I've never seen addressed here (may have missed some posts though)

I do not use Outlook at home (but I DO at work...I use Eudora Pro at home). I have two questions. If I used MPT only at home, does it have to utilize Outlook on my PC? (I imagine I could install Outlook only for my phone and still use Eudora for my email)

Also, if I use MPT at home or at work, can you edit the phonebook on the PC? By edit, I mean add or delete contacts, edit the Speed Dial numbers...

Does anyone know the largest Transflash card that'll work in the E815?

The 2GB version is now available on ebaY for under $25 with shipping.

Lost my e815 to weeks ago and I'm just not as happy with the MotoRazr Maxx Ve which I got to replace it. Been looking around and see that new E815s can be had on eBay for about $120, but saw a flier in todays paper for an e816 through Amp'd for $30 - no contract, etc.

Any chance I can get this to work on the verizon network ?

Main differences I see are color (black) and push to talk feature. Any other differences between 815 and 816 ?

I know the 815's have been discontinued for a while. But as an 815 owner the thought of changing to a phone that will lack in performance doesn't make me very happy. Other than Ebay, any idea where I could purchase one ?

My 815 is dying and I need a new phone. Problem is I have alot of pictures I would like to keep. Is there anyway to transfer pics from the 815 to a new phone? Is the slot at the top of the phone a transflash slot or micro sd?

I tripped and dropped my e815 down some stairs last night and decapitated it. Now I have no display but the keys/outer speakers still light up and work.

I desperately need to get my contact list synched over Bluetooth... luckily I already paired the device with my computer.

But Bluetooth was powered off when it broke. Can anyone help me power Bluetooth back on without my display?

I know the names of the things (Bluetooth, Settings, Power -> On... is ultimately what I want), but since I don't have a display, I have to enter the key sequence exactly right. I just don't remember the exact key sequence. If there is anybody out there who has Bluetooth ...

Pretty pleased with my new Hollywood (esp. if I ever get my rebate - can't beat FREE for a pay-as-you-go plan).

However, am annoyed by the LOUD beep (even when rest of phone is on vibrate or silent) from PTT button. Maybe I just have fat fingers, but I can't seem to stop pressing this, often when pulling phone out of case.

Does anybody know how to silence this? Don't have any use for PTT, so would be fine too if I could just disable the entire PTT function.

Ok so i have my E815 love the damn thing but i had a LG rep come into my store and show me a episode of joey (why he had that of all things on his memory card is beyond me) but i would like to know if and how i can do that with my transflash memory card i have the 512mb memory card for it so i got the room i just need the know how. Can anyone help me out with this thanks. ☹️

I like everything about this phone except one feature I cannot get to work. When I am looking at the internet with it, with Open Wave...I get to some images I want to save to my phone, press menu, in the list there is "save item" but when I press this, nothing happens. I have been able to use this feature with other cell phones I have had with no problem. Alltel says they do not know. Software has been updated. What now?

Hello. Has anyone gotten the Motorola E815 phone to work with 2GB Transflash (TF) MicroSD memory? Anyone tried and failed? I bought some off ebay, the auction listed the E815 as supported, but it only worked briefly in my phone and now the phone won't format it and any PC formats it at 997 MB instead of 2GB, AND, when I talked to Motorola the tech claimed the phone didn't support 2GB (but she didn't seem to know what she was talking about...)

i have a e815 and am trying to connect it with my Motorola HS810 bluetooth headset, any help would be much appreciated

Ampd only has 4 phones to choose from....that really sucks. Does anyone know if they will adding new phones anytime soon?

When I had teh Hollywood (E816) several months ago, I didn't pay attention to the bluetooh funcionality. Is the bluetooth crippled like it is on Verizon, or can I do what I wanna do on it?

I recently retired a Treo 600 and went with the Motorola E815 for its reception based on what all you users had to say about it. Either I had the worst Treo or you all could have not been more right. This thing is unbelievable! Problem though is that I am having near panic attacks at the thought of putting each contact entry into the E815 one at a time. Really having withdrawel at the simplicity of transfering data on a data device. All my data is on my Treo and my computer. It is in Treo format on my computer. I have purchased the software with data cable for the E815, but not yet received it. Will this work, or is there another, perhaps better, way? The E815 is pretty neat in some ways, but the Treo 700 is quite advanced to the 600 as well...

2. is it worth getting because of the SD adaptor. then i dont have to use vzwpix to send my self ringers.

Does anyone know if you can download ringtones on line and then send them to your phone? Also, can you charge the ringtones to a credit card rather than your VERIZON bill?

Additionally, is there any place else besides GET IT NOW to get ringtones and how can that be done?

I need opinions from people currenly using the E816 with Amp'd Mobile. Just some quick questions, and I'm appreciative of any replies:

1) Does the E816 work well, as well as the E815?

2) How is the coverage? Do you get good signal? Ampd Mobile assures me that they use Verizon network, and this is important to me because Verizon is the only carrier with a signal inside my house!

3) How is your experience with the customer service?

I checked the CNET site, and the user's reviews for this phone and Ampd Mobile is a bit unusual. One out of five users gave it a 9/10, while the other four gave it only 1/10 with many different complaints (e.g., rebates are not honored, phone crashes all the time, very weak reception, unhelpful customer...

I have a Motorola Hollywood (E816), and I can't seem to make playlists so that I can play a series of mp3 songs continuously. I'm able to make playlists with mp3 songs on a transflash card with the E815 (Verizon's). However, with the E816 I can only make playlist with a couple of small songs in the phone's internal memory. I can't make playlists with mp3 stored in a transflash card (1GB). I'm appreciative of any help 😉

I've loaded small .mpg files onto my e816 (amp'd version of e815) thru the usb cable and can play them from the phone on the pc while still connected to the cable, but once I detach it and goto the video folder on the phone, it doesn't even show up. And I have the source set to transcard. Anyone know how if theres a size limit or special format the file has to be in?
