i remember when i was working for t-mobile i had the 715, best phone i ever owned. now that i work for cingular im kinda nervous we wont see it, does anyone know where this phone is going too

If it does come I think it will be for T-Mobile since the phone has 900/1800/1900MHz. It doesn't have 850MHz, and this is what Cingular needs. So, I dought it will come to Cingular!

Ok, I don't think I quite understand this whole "which phone goes where" system. I have had a bunch of phones through Telus over the years, some are featured on here, and some aren't. Why not? If it's the same brand name, why can't the service company carry all of the phones on the product line? 😕

A lot of different things factor into what carrier will have a given phone or not. Most carriers don't want to take just one make of phone because each make of phone has it own perks and down sides but that's not the real kicker.

The first thing that matters is what technology a phone uses. Some of the more common forms are AMPS, CDMA, GMS, and TDMA

AMPS = Advanced Mobile Phone Service.

"The analog wireless transmission standard (technology) deployed in the 1980s in the United States. AMPS operates only in the Cellular frequency band (800 MHz).

AMPS networks are still operating, and offer excellent coverage of most of the country. Many current phones feature AMPS for analog roaming where digital service is not available.
