anyone else scared?
😕 Im not sure if im the only one but im a little apprehensive about this phone. I own a v600 now and was lucky enough to get one after all the bugs and problems had been worked out. I like the v635 but i dont want to be one of the first people stuck with problems

The V600 was supposed to be Motorola's BIG DEAL phone for 2004 and its launch with problems really messed that up. I would assume that Motorola is going to learn from their mistakes and try to make this one as free of bugs as possible. This could in turn cause a delayed launch though. Motorola knows that if they release another buggy 600 series...it will hurt their reputation.

I'm not sure about this phone. I had the V600, then the V505, and then 2 V551s. The V505 is the best phone i've ever had. The V600 was very buggy, so I got a replacement which worked pretty good. The V551 dropped a lot of calls....what I ended up doing is unlocking the V505 to make it work with Cingular.
The reason i'm mentioning this is that from my experiences and reading online its apparant Motorola has very poor quality control. Some phones work great while others are very buggy. I'd be very wary about this phone. If you get it don't be afraid to return it or trade it in for another one in the hopes you get one of the phones that actually works properly.

I have the V635. My roommate has the V600 and complains about the bugs, but I promise I have had none, it works faster than the V600 too. My only complaint is the battery life is not very good. THATS IT. I PROMISE

Actually I have spoken with Our Warranty department at CIngular adn there is an Internal Product advisory for the Moto V Series phones. They MUST be powered off for at least 15-20 secs every 3.3 days otherwise they will start to drop calls in the 5-18 range very very often....Unfortunately I can't get Physical confirmation of this...but I had replaced l a lot of phones for customers with this problem....from what I have heard as well CIngular's XBM dept will not replace phoens ofr this issue any longer if you admit to never turning your phone off....they will actually make you power cycle the phoens for the next few days then require you to call back if you are still ahving problems. Hope this helps

Actually that release was for the v500 series phone (namely the 551) the other phones were unaffected by the bug and the 551 has been updated with software so the newer ones are uneffected.

It was also the first in this series. It's like the t-Series phones each release was more dependable than the last. It this were the alpha of the series I would be more apprehensive, but it's the third generation and I don't think it will be nearly as problem ridden.
