Question about using Verizon SIM card on V635
Aloha everyone,
Does anyone know or have first-hand knowledge about installing a Verizon SIM card of an A840 into an unlocked Motorola V635 -- In other words, will the unlocked V635 work in the U.S. using Verizon's SIM card?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Back in January, from what I knew, it was not compatible with Verizon. I'm not too sure now. Sorry I didn't really answer your question totally.

Totee,
Thanks for your input. Truly appreciate it 🙂

no it wont because verizon uses the cdma band and this phone is an unlocked phone for the gsm band. as far as i know verizon doesnt even have sim cards, thats a gsm thing

Finn,
Thanks for your feedback; but actually Verizon does have a combo CDMA/GSM phone (Motorola A840) that uses a SIM.
I'm just wondering if Verizon's SIM would work on any unlocked quadband GSM cell phone. Perhaps someone out in cyberspace has some personal experience plugging in the Verizon SIM into an unlocked quadband GSM phone that would work in the U.S.?

no kidding. my bad then. i have no idea if that would work

No worries. I'll find the 411 somewhere, somehow. Thanks brah! 😁

The only thing I can think of is finding a Multi-Band phone. I know the Former ATT Wireless had Multi-Band that used both TDMA/GSM off of it. It was a pain in the behind to program, but it worked for when your in an area with no GSM service but there is TDMA service.
I didn't know Veriozon had a MB service like that.

According to a Motorola A840 review, they were able to take the sim card out of the A840 and stick it in another GSM phone and it worked just fine.
