Bluetooth!
I wish they would activate the dial-up protocol so that one can connect to the internet. Blackberry's site says it has a modem in it, so technically it should be able to connect to the internet using a cable, but not bluetooth.

I am not sure how secure Bluetooth is. That could be a reason they decided on Bluetooth compatible as opposed to pure bluetooth.

Bluetooth is very secure. Nobody can access your phone unless you allow them to.

I doubt the bluetooth is any more crippled than the 7290 and 7100 series... It's not crippled so much as the support for it was not added. As far as I know the hardware itself doesn't support anything beyond headsets and car kits, unlike the v710 which has the ability and was disabled on purpose.

I have mastered Verizon Bluetooth with a V710 in my Accura, as a headset and my notebook as a modem. I also use a Treo 600 for business purposes that I like. I am tired of carrying two devices and this third Verizon Bluetooth device is appealing, however, I do not want the recent Audiovox "BRICK" that came out as Verizons second Bluetooth device.
I am having difficulty evaluating this product because I am a heavy Corporate e-mail user. Simply stated will this work in my car and how is the web brouser on a Blackberry. I have wasted far too much time trying to figure our if Verizon will come out with a Treo 650.

Well, being in sales myself and traveling in my mobile office all day I can say that the browser works just fine. I was cautious when it mentioned a browser and how limited it is. I can with the 7250 access my corporate intranet from this device. As far as a heavy corporate e-mail user, that is what a BB was made for, people like us. Hope this helps! (I use my BB as a phone also and it works well BT and all)

actually no it is not "crippled" the truth of the matter is blackberry does not support bluetooth in any model for any thing except handsfree/headset. the reason is simple. what do you want to do with the black berry? object push? how? you can't have customizable ring tones, pictures are not supported, really what more bluetooth does the blackberry need? do you want to run it as a modem? if you do it will fry after less then 2 hours. the device simply cannot handel the type of strain it puts on the device it over heats and fries. *l* nothing worse then fried blackberryes!
