Does the operating system have pretty good speed (naviating menus, when you press buttons any lag time)?

From an individual from cnetasia.com:
"but the processing speed of the 6101 is unusually slow at times. For instance, there's a noticeable 1- to 2-second lag between flipping the phone open and answering an incoming call and the call actually being picked up."

Don't all flip phones have this lag time though?

I'm wondering what other "slow processing speeds" this individual is speaking of & if they're that big of a deal.

Haven't experienced anything slow. Yeah, the "flip to open" on a ring is a little slow - but I don't mind b/c it gives me time to get it to my ear.

No other "slow" process speeds that I've even noticed.

The slowness on opening is unique to Nokia to allow you time to refuse the call and send immediately to voicemail by pushing the hangup button.
I find that the 6101 does a slower operating system than most Nokias. It does take about a second to get into the menu screen, for instance.
I konw Motorolas have take large hits by people onthese forums but I find, by comparison, my V330 menu's work quicker than the Nokia 6101.

Yeah it does have that lag time, but you have the option to go ahead and press the answer key to answer it quicker.

You know that actually makes sense. When a call comes in you can see the CID on the mini screen - but you can't answer or reject the call until you flip it open. That makes sense.

If they had made one of the buttons on the side capable of rejecting a call, or silencing the ring, might have been nice. But I don't find it a problem. Just takes gettin used to.

You have to be kidding. You can't silence this thing by touching one of the buttons on the side? Really?

found this on the nokia website:

5. How do I answer phone calls with the Nokia 6101 phone? Can I answer an incoming call when the fold is closed?

When the fold is closed, incoming calls can be answered by opening the fold. There is a short timeout before the call is answered, to allow you to mute the call if you wish. If a headset is connected, incoming calls can be answered with the headset without opening the fold. There is a setting where you can define is opening fold answers the call with a timeout or if you have to press a key.

Pressing the volume keys while there is an incoming call will mute the ringing tone.

I stand corrected!! I just never noticed it b/c I have answered all of the calls I've rec'd - so far at least!

But I don't get this part:

"5....There is a setting where you can define is opening fold answers the call with a timeout or if you have to press a key".

Where's this setting located?
