voicemail setup

how do I add the pauses when I try to dial into my voicemail. It used to be press and hold the # key until it turned into a "p" but it didn't work... I'll admit, I just got the phone and really haven't looked at the manual but any help would be appreciated!

Press the * key 3 times in quick succession. It goes: * + p w

thanks! worked perfectly... I put two "P's" in and it seemed to be a lot quicker than my old AT&T LG. piece of crap phone...
