broke down and ordered it
Struggled for years with the original Kyocera DuraForce Pro, which I'm still using today since it's only claim to fame is it is truly indestructible. I stubbornly refused to upgrade to the Pro 2, or the 5G/UW, or the Durasport 5G/UW based on cost factor/poor reviews/poor upgrade tech specs. I would show my peers my beat up old Duraforce Pro and claim it was a badge of honor - still working and my money was still in my pocket.
This Pro 3 version has some real promise however and it is on order. The latest version of Android (Tiramisu) and a SnapDragon chip that came out last summer, decent RAM, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G. Hopeful.

follow up - phone arrived Aug 10, fully charged it and I always let a new battery fully discharge from 100% to 0% before recharging to give a battery a full workout. First charge lasted just under 96 HOURS, which is substantial. That is including restoring old data, reinstalling apps, and about 25% of the time on cellular and 75% on Wi-Fi 6. screen is crystal clear and responsive, no ghost touches detected at all. camera quality is very good. keep in mind i kept my original duraforce pro for 6 1/2 years, but i feel good for frog-hopping the earlier phones and waiting for this one. also bought a swivel belt case directly from kyocera which just arrived and this is a great phone. not dainty for suit and tie types, but a great phone for ...
